Cost of Pulling a Tooth

What is the cost of pulling a tooth? Put simply, the dental field considers that there are two kinds of extractions: Easier and Harder extractions, and each have different costs.

Generally if your dentist is able to get the tooth out rather than an "oral surgeon," this is going to be a cheaper procedure. Most teeth can be pulled by a general dentist who does extractions.

We do plenty of extractions because it is commonly requested by our large number of Emergency patients, as we offer extended evening and weekend hours.

The cost for the FULL APPOINTMENT, meaning X-rays, Exam/Consultation and Extraction are:

Easier Extraction (meaning the tooth isn't likely to break when pulling it out): $301

Harder Extraction (meaning more tools, technical skill and confidence are required) $401

These costs are probably what you could expect for your area. If it is an oral surgeon doing the procedure it will be more expensive by approximately double, thus it may be a good idea to see if it is a procedure a dentist is comfortable doing before contacting an oral surgeon.
